It is too bad these 4k steelbook versions only get sold for rediculous prices on the 'second' hand market. All brand new sealed editions, only purchased for profit. I cannot believe Paramount will not reprint these to make money for the company instead of providing so-called smart collectors with a profit at the expense of movie enthousiasts.

I had a good time with this one. Not near the adrenaline rush of Fury Road but Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor Joy did great as Furiosa but Chris Hemsworth was the show stealer for me! I did feel some pacing issues but overall it was an enjoyable return to the wasteland.

He should take some notes from Christopher Nolan who shoots on film however Nolan's films look fairly clean, not grainy, without the DNR/EE ruining the fine detail.

John is brilliant 👍🏻💯 one of my favourite directors/writers. Im an artist/illustrator so if im doing comics or just a piece on canvas I think of John or watch his films to get ideas and and inspiration.

T2 on 4K looks FANTASTIC!! I LOVE THE TRANSFER! James Cameron knows what he is doing, he knows more than you and me!

Grain lover vs grain hater

What's interesting about this version is that it says "COMING THIS SUMMER", and doesn't feature the paperback copy of Stephen King's novel with the yellow cover at the end.

I think the description has a typo: Their known for being *nonaggressive,* especially with humans. Most tend to just want to be left alone and won't bother anyone unless provoked.

I’m gonna make sure I get these later and any other 4K Cameron movies. I hate grain just as much as he does and the so called waxy look from DNR looks great to me. By the way I like the T2 transfer. It gets way too much hate. I don’t blame him. People probably were trolling and said their opinions in the most disrespectful way possible to him. Titanic also looks great with no grain.

I knew when he got backlash from the 4k transfer of T2 that he was just going to do the hell he liked, the guys a rich arrogant a hole, he dosent even care about what his audience like or say anymore, he's right, we're wrong, and you're a loser if you don't like it, maybe he should just retire into his Smurf film projects and pass the baton over to the studios to do his 4k transfers, it can't be any worse than what he's doing to them. Tbf I liked Aliens and The Abyss on 4k but True Lies was worse than T2 on 4k in ways that it looked really good one minute and looked like shit the next, at least T2 was a DNR mess from beginning to end. True Lies on 4k was distractingly horrendous. My wish is for him to stay away from The Terminator 4k..

New 1080p Blu ray discs have new AVC codec video transfer and Dolby Atmos hope Superman Returns gets this remaster by 2025 from Warner Bros Pictures and Charlie and the Chocolate 2005.

I own both the 1080p Blu-ray and 4K versions of Aliens. I prefer the 1080p version. The Abyss never had a Blu-ray release so i have no choice but to prefer the 4K over the DVD.

James Cameron criticizing his fans for his 4K restorations of True Lies, Aliens, and The Abyss gives me the "Ridley Scott criticizes historians for the historical inaccuracies of his 2023 Napoleon movie" vibes. On one hand, it is his right to present (and alter) his films the way he wanted them to be. On the other hand, the criticisms about the 4K restorations (such as the DNR and AI upscaling being used) are valid. I also noticed that the color gradings of the restorations are somewhat altered from their original versions. If movies keep being treated like that, it could give rise to custom and bootleg releases where the films will be treated better than the official releases (like the custom Blu-ray releases of the Star Wars original trilogy presented in initial theatrical versions before George Lucas's excessive tampering with the later official editions). I still remember when William Friedkin supervised the initial 2009 Blu-ray release of The French Connection where Friedkin fiddled with the color grading to give it a 'colder' feel and it was met with controversy, with the film's cinematographer, Owen Roizman, calling the release 'atrocious' and 'horrifying'. This resulted in the 2012 remastered Blu-ray 'Signature Series' release with both Friedkin and Roizman supervising the transfer and the color timing was finally corrected as the film was finally presented on Blu-ray the way it should be. James Cameron should have done the same with his recent 4K transfers (and that includes Terminator 2) with the film's respective cinematographers (like Mikael Salomon for The Abyss, Adam Greenberg for Terminator 2, and Russell Carpenter for True Lies; Unfortunately, Adrian Biddle for Aliens passed away in 2005) if they are still alive. I think the aforementioned cinematographers (and the crew members that worked on said films) would also be furious about Cameron's recent 4K restorations on the films they worked with him.

This is coming from the same James Cameron who removed the hole that Lance was standing in for the finale of Aliens (where originally, the prosthetic moved and revealed the hole Lance was standing in when his character reached to grab Newt) and then went back and changed the night sky for Titanic to make it match with what could have been seen in 1912 because Neil DeGrasse Tyson told him it was incorrect). He’s so obsessed with correcting errors with his past works, and he’s telling people who paid for his films and expect it to be good quality or better, to get a life? Damn shame, it’s clear he’s lost his damn mind.

Coming from the days of crappy VHS, I think my HD blu-rays (I haven't even upgraded to 4K, I have too many other expenses to care anymore) look GREAT. I'm satisfied. I've worked in video production (albeit not high end) for over 30 years, but I'm not a "pixel peeper"! I have a life. All I can tell James Cameron is, thank you sir, for finally releasing these movies on a high quality format. Been waiting a long time, but it was worth it!

It's the restaurant head chef throwing a temper tantrum at the customer's face because he said the stake was too overcooked. So fans, please, "get a life", and walk away from what Cameron's selling to you.

He propably used a 30k screen/projector to see how they look. Ive heard that movies with dnr look a lot better with projectors instead or tv's. However 90% of the people that buy movies dont have this equipment. Its a shame he did it this way.
